Destination Improvement: Allow us to specify the snowflake virtual warehouse used

I wanted to set up Fivetran to load data to a new database in my snowflake cluster, using a different role and virtual warehouse.  I am able to specify the database and role in the Snowflake configuration settings, but not the virtual warehouse. I think the only way to get around this is to create a separate Fivetran user with a different default warehouse?  I would prefer if I could re-use the same user and just tell Fivetran to use a different virtual warehouse.

    Hey everyone, this is a quick heads-up that we have added this feature to our release this month, July 2025.

    It should be available out of the gate for connectors or destinations. If you don't see it available, I recommend working with your sales team or opening a support ticket to get access!

    You can now choose the virtual warehouse you want to use for running queries and performing DML operations when setting up your Snowflake destination. To support this enhancement, we have made the following changes:

    • Added a new drop-down menu, Default Virtual Warehouse, to the Snowflake setup form. This menu displays all virtual warehouses available to the Fivetran user and allows you to specify the default warehouse for the destination.
    • Added a new drop-down menu, Snowflake Destination Virtual Warehouse, to the setup forms of source connections associated with Snowflake destinations. This option lets you override the destination-level default and select a different warehouse for individual connections.

    I am having a similar use case, it would be massively helpful if Fivetran starts supporting more connection parameters starting with giving the option to specify a specific Snowflake virtual warehouse in the destination configuration.

    This would be really valuable for us as well. We would like to separate tables and connectors by SLA so we can put high-priority tables on a separate warehouse to ensure they stay up-to-date. We strongly prefer not to have to manage additional credentials.

    Having separate warehouses also helps us manage our costs within Snowflake, so we don't have to pay for a larger warehouse for lower-priority workloads.

    Hello Fivetran Team,

    Having an option to give the Snowflake warehouse in the Destinations or at the Connectors would be of great help to optimize the cost that need a smaller warehouse rather than using a single warehouse set up as a default for a snowflake user in all the jobs.

    When can we expect to see this in production? I see this request was given almost 2 years back.
