Other: Connector Notifications only for Errors
Currently the email notifications for any Fivetran connector are sent out for all the status updates or events affecting a connector. Emails are sent for any Schema changes, data syncs delays, successful syncs after delays or any errors. We integrate email notifications with Servicenow incidents. In this case, it is expected to receive emails only for Errors on the Connector. Therefore, it will be good feature to give an ability to the user to control the events on which notifications need to be sent out. This will enable users to receive email notifications only for Errors in the connectors and it will help create the right Servicenow tickets on our side.

Hi Harshit,
Some notifications are not configurable for connectors including the connector MAR estimate, connector trial end, resync completed, and connector errors. The majority of the emails will be related to errors.
For the other emails you mentioned, you can turn these off if you don't find them valuable.
- For delays, you can turn these OFF in the Connection Setup tab.

- For schema changes, you can turn it OFF in the Connection Schema tab. Make sure Send Notifications is unticked.

Unfortunately, you will need to do this for each connection that you don't want to receive these notifications for. – I am aware this is very painful and is something that we are looking at, but wanted to let you know in the meantime that you already have access to configure these notifications.
Best,
Lyndsey

Hi Lyndsey,
We’d prefer not to turn off alerts as they’re very useful to individual users, but we need a way to set up an email ID that only receives failure alerts. Currently, every alert triggers a ServiceNow ticket if we set that email ID up, resulting in a high volume of false alerts and unnecessary tickets in our queue.

Thanks for responding, Reuben. That makes sense. Are you able to use filters in ServiceNow?
I ask as this is not a feature that we currently have a timeframe for, but we are looking at more granular configuration with notifications and this would be one use case we would consider. -
Hello Lyndsey, Thanks for getting back. The tickets get auto-created on SN basis the failure notifications we get on email. There isn't a filter on service now for the same. These false alerts can be closed, but it also has a cost element with the increased service now tickets. Hence we want to see to it that we can configure only failures/errors to be redirected to a particular email, while the other email groups can receive all the notifications that fivetran sends.
