Other: HVR runs out of sync with database upgrade
Hello,
Can you please help me understand your tool better?
When upgrading a database, for example from Oracle version 12.2 to Oracle version 19.15, I have to refresh all channels because HVR is out of sync. I don't understand why it runs out of sync since the upgrade does not affect HVR replicated tables.
Am I doing something wrong?
This is procedure that I follow:
1- Stop HVR Scheduler
2- Upgrade the source database
3- Change the HVR HUB configuration to point to the new Oracle home, then launch the HVR scheduler

Hi Khosro,
The sequence of steps that should result in no loss of changes:
- Application stops on Oracle 12.2.
- Make sure to capture and integrate all changes before the upgrade.
- Stop the HVR scheduler.
- Perform the database upgrade to 19c.
- Update the Location Configuration to use the 19c Oracle home.
- Activate (or initialize) the channel using Transaction Files and Capture Time, Table Enrollment and Scripts and Jobs. Use capture rewind time to a point after the upgrade, but before the application started processing on Oracle 19c.
- Resume the replication.Hope this helps.
Mark.
