Connector Improvement: Allow XML in E-Mail Connector

Currently the E-mail Connector does not allow XML files to be processed where it is needed because there are a lot of historic technologies out there that only will send files via e-mail and only as an XML format and to be able to automate this process it needs to be able to load that data (the same way as with a webhook event or json, just all into 1 column that can then be parsed.)

    Hi Andrew,

    Thank you for sharing your need for XML support in tour Email connector.
    Can you give a few examples of the services that send files via email and only as XML?

    You correctly capture that processing XML can be a problem - do you ever need that? - do these files every have XSD files with them that capture the structure of the data in them?

    How big are the files usually? - one of the concerns we have identified with a 'just process' approach to XML is encountering cell limits in the data warehouses - which could make the XML useless.

    I really appreciate you sharing more details around your use case.
