Destination Improvement: Kafka Tombstone
Hi folks,
We have a few feature requests for HVR SQL Server to Kafka replication for us to be able to fully transition over to HVR for this replication stream. The most critical is for HVR to send tombstones when a row is deleted. This helps us with compaction downstream and is a key requirement for us.
A tombstone is a key with an empty (null) value associated with it. All keys relating to transactions involving that particular row should have a tombstone sent upon row deletion in SQL Server.
I just wanted to gauge if this is doable and how long this feature would take to roll out for me to understand whether we can proceed with this.
Best wishes,
Leo
