    Hi Kristin,

I really appreciate you requesting a new connector and helping to make Fivetran a great service.
OData looks to be a way to build Rest APIs.
Can you describe how you would want a Fivetran connector to work with the OData service?

    Thank you

    Alison

    Hey Alison,

The way it's implemented by Matillion data loader for example, is that with OData you can specify an endpoint in your application, and each endpoint is exposed as if it were a table. For example if we use an accounting system that allows OData, the developer can make an endpoint called "Customers" and maybe other endpoint called "Sales" and these two will then be available to any tool (Excel, PowerBI, or ELT tools) as tables.

Feel free to get in touch with me directly if you wish...

    Daniel.

Adding to this request, if possible to add a connector for HVR to connect to OData also.

    Hi Alison,

Do we have any update on this request?

Is their a plan to build a OData connector?

    Thanks & Regards,

    Tejas

    Hi Tejas,

Thank you for your interest. Could you share a little more about how you would expect an OData connector to work please?

OData allows you to create APIs on a 3rd services that allows it. Some services provide default OData APIs.
Which service are you hoping to use an OData Connector for?
Are you planning to write or extend any APIs using the OData standard?

I'd really appreciate your help and insight on the right way to approach building this connector

    Best Regards

    Alison

    Hi Alison,

We are using services of a company called DispatchScience for business purposes, which has a OData setup to pull data out of there system.

We want to use OData deployed on DispatchScience side to pull Tables into our internal Snowflake warehouse.

Let me know if you need more information.

    Thanks & Regards.

Hi Alison! I was looking for an Odata connector as well, let me describe the use case I have on further detail:

    1. I'd like to get this kind of data source on a datawarehouse or database using fivetran: https://www.datos.gov.co/Econom-a-y-Finanzas/Tasas-de-inter-s-activas-por-tipo-de-cr-dito/u8ud-84pb
    2. There, you can access an Odata connector for that particular datasource, but I'd like to extract that data and load it on my own datawarehouse using Fivetran instead of connecting a reporting tool directly. This is the particular Odata v4 link provided by that particular resource: https://www.datos.gov.co/api/odata/v4/u8ud-84pb

I think this is a similar use case for what others are trying to describe on this post, let me know if you have any questions. For my use case, I'm feeding this particular Tableau dashboard: https://public.tableau.com/app/profile/luis.daniel.chavarr.a/viz/Tasasdeinteresporbancoytipodecredito/Dashboard1 directly from the datasource, but it has proven unreliable and hard to update, therefore I want to load this data myself onto a DWH structure.

Has there been any movement on this?  odata seems to be a fairly well supported standard in some circles

Hi there, any update? I'd also really benefit from an OData connector. Currently struggling with a Google Cloud Function connector to act as a middleman, but running into some problems. Anyone else been able to get around this?

I am also interested in this Connector. My company uses SAP Business ByDesign and has many Custom Fields that the standard Connector does not pick up. Within SAP Business ByDesign, I can create reports that can then be accessed with the OData format. I am able to connect to these reports with Qlik, but can't with Fivetran. I'd like to be able to use the OData format to pull data out of SAP Business ByDesign, including custom fields.
