Connector Improvement: how can I get Google Ads Geo Performance Report Metro Name?
AnsweredHi
Google Ads Geo Performance Report has a field "METRO_CRITERIA_ID", but not the name for it. I found this article of mapping city / country / region name. How can I get Metro Name showing in the UI:

Hi Wei Wei, Drew from the Product Team here.
As John mentioned, this is provided by Google in a separate file. As the AdWords API is now deprecated, please let me know if you are facing issues with the Google Ads API connector.

The Google Ads API reference has a specific resource for getting the map between geo target ID and text name. This should be built in functionality with a tool as robust as Fivetran and not something we have to manually upload a CSV for.

The current link to download the csv is https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/reference/data/geotargets (then uploaded as a seed on dbt)
Couldn't agree more with John Schroeder: it's something I'd have expected Fivetran to do. If there's a technical explanation as to why they cannot do it, I'd be curious to read it.

100% agree this should be a standard field option to pull into a report.
