OpenAI connector: add ChatGPT Enterprise usage limits (Spend Controls API)
Connector name: OpenAI
Table name: Usage limits (suggested: USAGE_LIMIT_WORKSPACE, USAGE_LIMIT_GROUP, USAGE_LIMIT_USER)
API documentation link: https://help.openai.com/en/articles/20001001-manage-usage-limits-and-overages-in-chatgpt-enterprise-and-edu
Additional details:
ChatGPT Enterprise and Edu admins can set monthly credit usage limits at workspace, group and user level (user overrides). OpenAI exposes these settings through the Spend Controls API, which can be read with a ChatGPT Admin API key that has the chatgpt.enterprise.usage_limit.read scope.
The OpenAI connector already uses the ChatGPT Admin key to sync Codex analytics and Compliance Platform data, but it does not currently sync usage-limit settings (confirmed with Fivetran support).
Requested data:
- Workspace default limit
- Group limits (group ID, limit)
- User overrides (user ID/email, override limit)
- Ideally, each user's effective (inherited) limit and the period it applies to
Use case: compare each user's credit consumption (e.g. CODEX_USAGE.total_credit) with their effective limit, to monitor AI spend per user and flag users who are close to or over their limit, without having to build and maintain a custom ingestion.
