Connector Improvement: "Twitter Analytics" Connector Not Pulling In All User Tweets
AnsweredWe hooked up the Twitter Analytics connector and when we viewed the "TWEET" table, it only pulls Organic Tweets.
Here's a snippet of the table "CREATED_AT" sorted on the the newest date:
This account has made hundreds of tweets since the last one in this table. However, I found some interesting behavior within the Twitter Ads website is that is the same as this.
Go to ads.twitter.com --> click "Creatives" dropdown in the navigation bar --> select "Tweets" --> and when the list is displayed with "Tweets: Organic", it is displaying the same list with the last tweet from 2018.
This leads me to believe that the API being called in the webpage, which is rendering the results without the latest tweets, is the same API that FiveTran is using to list Tweets. This API is possibly not the right one to call.
Also, in order for the FiveTran "Twitter Analytics" connector to work, I had to run an advertisement and enter my billing information before I could connect. Is there a way to access the Twitter data without having to do this? Are there other APIs that could be called?
Thank you!

Hi Scott Condo, Drew from the product team here.
Thanks for sharing this information. I'm assuming you are referring to the Twitter Organic connector. As you noticed, we are utilizing the Twitter Ads APIs to pull organic tweets for accounts. The reason for this is to pull historical and incremental data from Twitter. The Twitter Public API currently only supports current state data, so is not optimal for many types of analysis.
We are, however, evaluating how best to leverage those APIs, so stay tuned for things over the next several quarters as we solve some challenges there.
