Connector Improvement: Add comments to the Facebook pages connector

It would be helpful to have number of comments added to the Facebook pages connector in tables like daily_page_metrics_total and unique_lifetime_post_metrics_total.

 

Also, if there was an optional table (since it could be a large # of rows and not all companies might want it) that would give you the actual text of comments, that could be useful for companies that want to do sentiment analysis!

    We've completed the rollout of the new POST_COMMENT_HISTORY table and a new comment_count field to the POST_HISTORY table. You can see our updated ERD here: Facebook Pages ERD.

    We wrapped up the implementation to support comments and will be rolling it out in the next few weeks. We'll update here once the rollout begins.

    Our team is also interested in the actual text comments mentioned in the original request via Stephen. 

    Please let us know if and when that may be available to use, based on Calvin's (FiveTran) last note 1 year ago it may already be...

    But playing with the connector and querying what comes through currently that doesn't seem evident to my team so far.

    The actual comment text should be stored in the message field in the POST_COMMENT_HISTORY table. You can see our ERD here for reference: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1ke65vE-n6jQwBg3w1etYQ_KhU5f1WoFH__t_yf6u7t8/edit?slide=id.g31f9c3c1e23_0_0#slide=id.g31f9c3c1e23_0_0. 

    That table maps to this Graph API endpoint: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/graph-api/reference/v23.0/comment. The message field is described by Meta as "The comment text". 

    Can you please check that column in your schema and confirm whether this is the data you're looking for?
