Connector Improvement: Allow API Key Auth for Github Connector
CompletedHello,
Currently the only way to authenticate the Github connector is with a Github user account that has admin level access to all repositories in an organization. I understand that because of Github's implementation of Oauth scopes that this is not something Fivetran has control over in terms of the Fivetran Github application.
Can Fivetran add an option to authenticate to Github with a Personal Access Token instead? This would allow much more granular access permissions to be set for the Fivetran user. Since Fivetran only needs read access to Github, this would be a much better method for organizations like ours where granting admin access to all repositories is not an option.

Hi all,
Closing this request out as we allow users to authorize with Personal Access Tokens.
Thanks,
Frank

this would be great to have.

This is also a blocker for me. We would need to establish a data integration to an Apache Software Foundation project, but the access that Fivetran currently requires will most certainly not be possible given the strict security requirements of the ASF.
