New Connector: CockroachDb
Not plannedI would like to request support for CockroachDb as data source. We are in the process investigating CockroachDb as an option to replace existing OLTP databases.
Our decision is also dependent on the existence on tools required to replicate data between the OLTP database of choice and our data warehouse.
As the majority of our existing connectors are connectors for OLTP technology that we want to replace, this quite naturally would force us to reassess the use of Fivetran. I have already identified a SaaS vendor that supports CockroachDb, but would quite naturally want to stay with Fivetran, because of your excellent support and our good relationship.
I would appreciate if you can contact me in this regard, to discuss feasibility and timelines.

Hi Leon, Sabrina from the Product Team here - thanks for submitting this request! Unfortunately, we do not currently have this planned. That said, have you looked into using a cloud function to pull your CockreachDB data? Check out the CockroachDB documentation here. In the meantime, we will continue to collect customer demand to justify the commitment to support & maintain a high-quality Fivetran connector. Every upvote on this request increases the case to build it.
Best,
Sabrina Porter

CockroachDB is wire-compatible with PostgreSQL for which Fivetran does have a connector. Have you tried setting up CockroachDB using that connector?

Any reason why this is still not a thing? We are moving most of our data from sql datastores to CRDB in an effort to increase cross region reliability. CRDB provides a lot of value in terms of replication and consistency across regions.
If FiveTran doesn't support CRDB connectors, we are left with writing our own logic to connect CRDB with snowflake reducing our reliance on FiveTran.
