Connector Improvement: Add Data Extensions to Salesforce Marketing Cloud Connector
CompletedOur customers heavily utilize a feature in Salesforce Marketing Cloud called Data Extensions. This allows our customers to upload custom datasets and have them interact with other datasets already in Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
In order to provide accurate marketing campaign results to our customers, we need data that lives in the Extensions. I've linked SFMC Data Extensions API docs: https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/atlas.en-us.noversion.mc-apis.meta/mc-apis/retrieving_data_from_a_data_extension.htm

Hi all,
Luke from the Product team here!
We now support syncing data extensions on our Salesforce Marketing Cloud connector. You can read more about the feature in our documentation: https://fivetran.com/docs/connectors/applications/salesforce-marketing-cloud#dataextensions.
I'll mark this request as complete.
Thanks,

Hi Alex, Drew from the Product Team here!
Thanks for this request. We are planning to research adding data extensions on a limited basis in our next quarter.
We have previously attempted to support Data Extensions for SFMC, but were unable to due to the structure of the endpoint. The endpoint to retrieve data extensions does not support incremental syncs, so these objects must be completely reimported. This often led to >24 hour syncs and we chose to abandon that effort. We do have an open IdeaExchange request which you can upvote here: https://trailblazer.salesforce.com/ideaView?id=0873A0000003g0V

Hi all,
Luke from the Product team here!
We have a beta feature that enables syncing of SFMC Data Extensions using either password-based authentication or key pair-based authentication. If anyone tracking this feature request is interested in trying this beta feature we are looking for testers!
Respond in the comments and I'll reach out to get you set up.
Thanks,
Luke
