Connector Improvement: Qualtrics connector improvements
AnsweredWe have been trying to use the Qualtrics connector that is in private preview so I have a few notes on it:
1. The ERD says that you support pulling custom data_* for contact_transactions, but after talking to your support team, it turns out you are not using the Qualtrics API which returns this custom data, so these custom metrics are not supported. I would like to request that you do support it (or at the very least update the ERD so that it accurately captures what is available).
2. There is no link between distributions/contact transactions and responses. Request is to include the contact_history object so we can link survey sent to survey responded. This is super important to survey reporting. Without that, we have responses that can't be linked back to anything.
3. On the distribution object, there are a lot of STATS_* which are pulled at the time the distribution record is pulled, but these are metrics which change a lot, so this data becomes obsolete very very quickly. I talked to Qualtrics about this metric and it's tricky to get this since there is no way to get a change log (like X distribution was open on X date), but perhaps we could get updates by updating stats on distributions with a modified data > the last sync time.
4. This is minor, but it would be great if your documentation indicated that this connector type is in private preview. It's really misleading as it being in your docs suggests it's a "ready"/"done" connector and it seems it's still being developed.

Hi Svetlana,
Thank you for the thoughtful and thorough feedback. You are absolutely right that our Qualtrics connector is still in private preview and is in development right now. We have been working diligently alongside Qualtrics support to stabilize connector performance across our mutual customers and all feature improvements have taken a back seat to this effort. Our "docs" page does list it in private preview, https://fivetran.com/docs/applications/qualtrics but I can see that our "marketing" page does not (https://fivetran.com/connectors/qualtrics). We'll look into what we can do there!
We'll plan to support custom data properly in the future as well as the STATS data. As for the relationships you mention in #2, we will need to investigate that to better understand. Once the connector is stable, we'll take a look and may be in touch.
Thank you for your patience,
Ray Harris
