Connector Improvement: Connector Improvement: Pendo - Backfill events for newly tagged pages & features
CompletedWhen users tag a page or feature in Pendo, historic events recorded since Pendo installation become associated with that page/feature appropriately.
With Fivetran's Pendo connector, currently, the page/feature events table will sync events from the time the page/feature was tagged, onwards. However, the current connector does not backfill the historic page/feature events that are now associated with the newly tagged page/feature.
The existing work around for Fivetran's Pendo connector is to re-sync all historic data. However, as any user of the connector knows, it can take months to perform the initial historic sync (not an exaggeration, ours took 2 months).
This feature request is for automatic backfilling of historic events for newly tagged pages and features. The benefits of this request is users of the connector can have confidence that the complete history of page & feature events is synced by the connector, without delaying the incremental syncs with a complete re-sync.
As a data engineer at Pendo, I can confirm the backfill is technically possible. The grouped events aggregation source used by Fivetran to sync the Pendo connector has parameters to request events specific to a featureid within any specific time range.

Hi Ian and David, Drew from the Product Team here!
Thanks for sharing this. We'll be looking into this in our Q4 starting in November.

100% agree with Ian on this feature request. This is one of the key benefits of Pendo so it's unfortunate that we can't get that backfilled data from Fivetran subsequent API syncs.
