Upgrade Activations to end L/T storage of customer data in Activations SaaS.
AnsweredActivations documented long term storage of actual customer data (not just surrogate keys, etc) in Activations SaaS (or even in a Hybrid deployment, for that matter) is challenging for us company to push through with our legal department. I suggest that Activations' system architecture be upgraded, more like classic Fivetran SaaS data storage, in which actual customer data is cached only during a sync session. Falling back on a hybrid architecture, although it might satisfy legal concerns, means taking on more infrastructure than we want to, so upgrading the SaaS architecture seems more appropriate.

Hey Daniel, sorry for the delay in getting back to you!
Fivetran Activations does not by default store your customer data. The default advanced sync engine which majority of our activation source connectors support uses the warehouse or lake itself to store snapshots of your customer data in your own infrastructure. Basic sync engine can be configured to use Fivetran-managed storage if that's convenient but configuring a storage integration as part of your connection will mean your customer data is stored under your management as well.
For more information on how we treat your storage infrastructure see, https://fivetran.com/docs/activations/misc/security-and-privacy
