Which connector?: Workday Financial Management and Workday HCM
Additional details: We are looking to ingest data for the Organization table for gift, grand, and project hierarchies, but the current SOAP Get_Organizations call doesn't return this data. Workday suggested custom object REST APIs for those missing object types, but the current Workday HCM connector uses SOAP only, not REST. We would like to request that Fivetran extend their connector to support REST as well so that we can get this data through the normal HCM connector as opposed to having to build a number of additional RaaS reports to pull this data in.

Hi Ralph – thank you for raising this.
We do already use Workday’s REST APIs in the HCM connector for a few newer tables (for example TIME_OFF_ENTRY). At the moment, however, the REST endpoints that expose the gift / grant / project organization hierarchies are not yet wired into either the HCM or Financial Management connectors, which is why the current Get_Organizations SOAP call doesn’t bring that data across.
We’ve added your request to the Workday backlog as an “existing-connector improvement” so it is evaluated alongside other Workday roadmap items. Once we have an estimate and sequencing, we’ll update this thread with a target timeline.
How you can help
If you have example payloads or the exact Workday Custom Object API paths you use for these hierarchies, feel free to attach sanitized samples (or DM them to your CSM). Real examples shorten our investigation and testing cycles.
In the meantime, the only workaround is to continue using your existing RaaS reports and load them through a separate connector.
