Add Inventory Ledger Report (GET_LEDGER_DETAIL_VIEW_DATA) to Amazon Selling Partner Connector
We'd like to request that Fivetran add support for Amazon's Inventory Ledger Report - Detail View to the Amazon Selling Partner connector.
Report details:
- SP-API report type: GET_LEDGER_DETAIL_VIEW_DATA
- Also relevant (summary-level version): GET_LEDGER_SUMMARY_VIEW_DATA
- Amazon documentation: https://developer-docs.amazon/sp-api/docs/report-type-values-fba
Business need:
The current FBA_INVENTORY_SUMMARY table only gives us a point-in-time snapshot of inventory (current on-hand, inbound, reserved, etc. as of now), with no historical record of how that balance was reached. We need to reconstruct historical inventory balances (beginning/ending inventory by month, inbound receipts, shipments, adjustments) for financial reporting and month-end account reconciliation, similar to how a standard inventory rollforward works.
The Inventory Ledger Report - Detail View is Amazon's actual transactional ledger: it records every inventory event (receipts, shipments, customer returns, vendor returns, warehouse transfers, and adjustments) per SKU with real dates, and Amazon retains up to 18 months of this history. This is the only Amazon-side data source that would let us reconstruct historical FBA inventory movement the way we can already do for our other fulfillment channel using date-stamped receiving/shipping records.
The report also supports an eventType filter (Adjustments, CustomerReturns, Receipts, Shipments, VendorReturns, WhseTransfers), so if it's easier to roll out incrementally, even just the Receipts and Shipments event types would unblock our core use case.
Without this report, we have no way to see historical FBA inbound shipments or reconstruct past inventory balances at all - the current snapshot-only table can't answer any question about a prior month.
Please let us know if you need any additional information to evaluate or prioritize this request.
