SAP Concur - Request to be able to extract Workflow data
AnsweredWhich application or service?: SAP Concur
What type of connector? (SaaS, Database, File or Event Source):
SAP Concur
Additional details:
Can this be added as a connector?
This would avoid us to roll out current Cognos reporting requiring us to buy additional licenses.
If yes, would you be able to give a timeline for making this available.
Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Hi Bart,
Thanks for the detailed request. To make sure we scope this correctly - could you clarify what workflow data you're looking to extract? Specifically:
-
Are you looking to read approval status and workflow step history on expense reports (i.e., who approved, when, what step)?
-
Or are you looking to trigger/action workflow steps (approve, send back) via Fivetran?
For data pipeline use cases like yours, the former is what typically makes sense - and that data is partially available through the SAP Concur Reports v4 API via approval status fields. The Workflows v4 API you linked is primarily an action API (approve/send back), not a read API for workflow history.
Once you confirm the exact data you need, I can assess feasibility and proceed further.
Thanks,
Tom

Hi Tom,
We only need the first option – statuses and workflow history. Approvals/rejections will still be done inside Concur.

Hi Bart,
Thanks for the follow-up. We've analyzed the SAP Concur APIs and confirmed that V4 Workflows returns current approval status only and not the historical workflow step data you need (who approved when, step sequence, timing).
Before we can scope this work, we need to know what SAP Concur actually exposes for that historical data. Can you check with your SAP Concur Account Manager:
1. What APIs or data extracts are available to retrieve historical approval workflow steps (who approved/rejected at each step, timestamps, step sequence, duration)?
2. Does SAP Concur expose this data via:
- A specific API endpoint?
- A custom Extract definition for your instance?
- A Business Intelligence (BI) report they can schedule/automate?Once we know what's available on your end, we can determine the best way to bring that data into your warehouse.
Thanks,
Tom
