Allowing workspace owners to create new users
PlannedCurrent behaviour
To add a new user to a workspace, an organisation admin must first create the user. Only then can the workspace owner add that user to their workspace.
Proposed improvement
Allow workspace owners to create and manage users directly within their own workspace, without requiring intervention from the organisation admin.
Reasoning
Each workspace corresponds to a different customer, all under a single Snowplow organisation. Currently, whenever a customer wants to add a new user, they must rely on us (as organisation admins) to create the user first. This introduces unnecessary delays and creates a dependency on our team, which is not required.
Expected outcome
Enabling workspace owners to manage their own users would:
- Reduce operational overhead
- Remove bottlenecks and delays
- Provide greater autonomy to customers
-

Hi Nirvashi! Thank you for the feedback, and agreed Census legacy access controls right now are a step back. We're actively working on further integrating into Fivetran's RBAC model which should allow us to reintroduce this capability. More news to come very soon on this!
