Allow Azure Blob Storage Connection using Container Level SAS
AnsweredWhich connector?: Azure Blob Storage Connection
Additional details: Currently fivetran has a limitation that it needs a Storage Account Level SAS to create connection to Azure Blob Storage. For many customers, this may prove as a limitation, as there might be multiple containers within the storage account and you want to limit access to specific container only. Generally for other tools or programming we use container level SAS to handle such scenario, and we would like to see fivetran also support this in future

Hi Deepu,
Thank you for raising this request. We support limiting access to particular containers in a storage account using Microsoft Entra ID. See the first authentication method on the setup guide here.
Thank you,
Parmeet -
Additional details regarding this can be found on this support case: https://support.fivetran.com/hc/en-us/requests/371250

Thanks Parmeet. Unfortunately the entra id option will not work for us, since this for an external entity to consume the files we deliver on Azure Blob Storage Containers. Currenlty, they use python code, or some ETL tools like SSIS to connect, read and download the file using Container level SAS tokens. It would be great if fivetran could also support that functionality sometime in the future. Thanks

Thank you for that context, Deepu. I've added this to the backlog and will let you know when we add support.
