New Connector: Google Ads UI
AnsweredWe saw a request on the web for custom Google Ads reports created in the ad platform UI to be pulled directly into Fivetran from 2 years ago saying it wasn't available at the time. We wanted to check whether there have been any recent updates or roadmap changes that might make this possible now.
Are we right to understand that is still not available in Fivetran? Or are we missing this somehow?
The Google Ads UI provides significantly more flexibility for building custom reports than what is currently exposed through the Fivetran connector. In particular, the UI allows us to generate reports with flattened columns and customized field groupings that are not otherwise available. Being able to create these reports in the Google Ads UI and then ingest them directly through Fivetran would remove several manual steps and reduce the need for post‑processing downstream.
To summarize the request:
- Enable the ability to pull custom reports that were created in the Google Ads UI directly into Fivetran.
- Support for flattened and customized report structures that are available in the Google Ads UI but not exposed through the current connector schema.
This capability would materially speed up our data ingestion process and give us access to reporting configurations that we cannot reliably reproduce through the existing connector options.
Please let us know if this is something that is now supported, under consideration, or planned on the roadmap.
Thank you for your time and support.

Hi Jason,
Luke from the Product team here. Thanks for the detailed request. We looked into this and found that the Google Ads API itself does not expose any way to programmatically retrieve saved report definitions created in the Google Ads UI. There's no "saved report" resource in the API, so no one leveraging the API can directly pull those UI-configured reports. Let me know if you've come across this elsewhere.
Our Google Ads connector already supports custom reports that can replicate what you're building in the Google Ads UI. In the Fivetran setup form, you can specify a resource type and choose exactly which fields, metrics, and segments to sync. To translate your existing Google Ads UI reports into Fivetran custom report configurations, Google provides a helpful mapping guide here: https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/reporting/uireports
If you run into any trouble setting up a custom report, our support team is happy to help with the configuration.
You also mentioned, "flattened and customized report structures that are available in the Google Ads UI but not exposed through the current connector schema." Could you elaborate on what you mean by this? I'm not sure whether what you're referring to is already supported by custom reports.
Cheers,
Luke
