Connector Improvement: Google Calendar - sync event types other than "default" calendar
AnsweredHey there, I'd like to request that other google calendar event types be synced over via the Fivetran connector. Currently, only the "default" calendar syncs over; however, we'd also like to be bring over the "OutofOffice" one as well as potentially other available types (e.g. Task, Working Location). The primary purpose of this feature request is for our Tech Support team to be able to perform capacity planning and accommodate schedules for better support coverage throughout the year. Thanks so much, I look forward to the development of this enhancement to the Gcal connector.

Following up on this request: in addition to the OutOfOffice calendar type, our team has a need for the following Google Calendar features:
- colorId
- visibility
- transparency
- workingLocationProperties
- OutofOfficeProperties
- focusTimeProperties
Someone on my team also noticed the following: the Fivetran connector might be on v2 as opposed to api version v3.

Hi Chloe,
Thank you for the detailed follow-up and for sharing the additional context and API references — this is extremely helpful.
I’m happy to share that we’ve now planned work to enhance the Google Calendar connector to support additional event types and related metadata beyond the current default calendar events. The use cases you outlined around support capacity planning and schedule visibility align well with the direction we’re taking.
The current scope under consideration includes support for additional Google Calendar event types and properties such as:
- OutOfOffice
- Working Location
- Focus Time
- Task events (where applicable)
As well as additional event attributes including:
colorIdvisibilitytransparencyworkingLocationPropertiesoutOfOfficePropertiesfocusTimeProperties
We also appreciate the note regarding Google Calendar API v3 support and the Events endpoint capabilities. The documentation you shared has been added to the internal tracking for this enhancement and will help guide implementation considerations.
At this stage, the work is planned and under evaluation by the engineering team. While I’m not able to provide an ETA just yet, I’ll continue to track progress and share updates as we move forward.
Thanks again for the thorough feedback and for helping us improve the connector experience.
Best regards,
