Connector Improvement: Tiktok

We’re seeing Spark Ads where ad_history.ad_name matches the Spark caption, and in a custom auction_basic_ad_report, ad_name also returns the caption while ad_text is blank. We need the internal Ads Manager ad object name we assigned in TikTok Ads Manager. Is that field available anywhere in the TikTok connector for Spark Ads, or is this a TikTok source limitation?

    Hi Louis,

    From what I can tell, for Spark Ads, TikTok's API returns the organic post caption as ad_name rather than the assignable internal ad object name. This is a TikTok source API limitation, not a Fivetran connector gap.

    TikTok's API architecture treats Spark Ads as promotions of organic content. Per TikTok's docs: "The ad's display name and text will reflect the chosen organic post and cannot be edited during the ad creation process." (source)

    I'll try reaching out to TikTok directly to confirm this finding.
