Connector Improvement: Feature Request: Include meta.template field from Kustomer Messages
AnsweredWe would like Fivetran to sync the meta.template field from Kustomer messages.
According to the Kustomer API documentation, this field is available in the Messages endpoint:
GET /v1/conversations/{id}/messages
Field location: attributes.meta.template
Currently, the Fivetran Kustomer connector retrieves message data through the customers/search endpoint and does not include this field in the synced schema. As confirmed by support, the API response contains the meta.template information, but the connector does not extract or sync it.
This field is important for us because it allows us to identify which message template was used in communications, which is necessary for analytics and reporting on automated messaging workflows.
It would be very helpful if the connector could expose meta.template as part of the messages table in the destination.

Sorry for the delayed response on this.
We checked with Kustomer directly and unfortunately this isn't something we can support. Kustomer confirmed that "templates are applied at the time the message is sent, but that reference isn't stored in a way that can be retrieved later" so the field simply doesn't exist in the API. It may occasionally appear for WhatsApp templated messages but is not consistent or reliable.
We also explored the shortcuts object workaround that Kustomer support team suggested, but there is no field in the API linking shortcuts to templates so that path doesn't work either.
We have raised this as a feature request with Kustomer and will keep you posted if there is any progress. It would also really help if you could raise this directly with your Kustomer account manager or through their feature request portal as requests from customers tend to carry more weight.
