Connector Improvement: Support Intuit QuickBooks Projects API (project-management.project scope) in the QuickBooks Connector
AnsweredThe current Fivetran QuickBooks connector only integrates with the QuickBooks Accounting API (com.intuit.quickbooks.accounting). While this provides access to standard accounting objects (Invoices, Bills, Customers, etc.), it does not expose the newer Projects functionality available in Intuit Enterprise Suite (IES) and QuickBooks Online Advanced.
Intuit now provides a Projects API and Premium GraphQL APIs that expose additional project management and job costing data that is not available through the accounting API.
Examples include:
- Projects
- Project budgets
- Project-linked estimates
- Project-linked transactions
- Project metadata and status
These APIs use the permission scope:
project-management.project
Currently there is no way to access this data through the native Fivetran QuickBooks connector, which means the only option is to build and maintain a custom connector.
Requested Enhancement
Add support for the Intuit Projects API / Premium GraphQL APIs within the existing QuickBooks connector so that project-related data can be replicated into the destination warehouse alongside existing accounting tables.
Ideally this would expose tables such as:
- projects
- project_estimates
- project_budgets
- project_transactions
Use Case
Our organization uses Intuit Enterprise Suite with Projects enabled and relies on project estimates and budgets for operational reporting and job costing.
We are building a centralized analytics environment using:
- Fivetran
- Snowflake
Without access to the Projects API, the warehouse lacks key project-level data required for:
- Project profitability analysis
- Estimate vs actual reporting
- Budget tracking
- Job costing dashboards
Supporting the Projects API in the native connector would allow organizations using QuickBooks Projects functionality to fully replicate their operational data into a warehouse.

Hi James,
Thank you for your detailed feature request regarding the QuickBooks Connector. We have added support for the Intuit Projects API to our backlog. We are currently evaluating the best way to address this and will follow up with updates as we progress.
Best,

Hi James,
Thank you for the detailed request. While native QuickBooks Projects API support is on our backlog, we have something that can get you unblocked today.
We recently launched an experimental Private Preview of our AI Connector Agent - a tool that lets you build REST API connectors directly, without needing engineering support. Private Preview access is currently available at no additional cost. Intuit's Projects API and Premium GraphQL APIs are well-documented, making this a strong fit.
Full documentation is here: https://fivetran.com/docs/connectors/ai-connector-agent
When setting up the connector, you'll be asked to fill in the "URL to the source's API documentation" field. For the Intuit Projects API, you can point it to Intuit's developer docs for the relevant endpoints.
As this is an early Private Preview, you may occasionally run into rough edges - but we're actively iterating. Connectors you build during Private Preview will continue to work as the product moves to General Availability. Reply here and we'll get the Private Preview flag enabled on your account - once enabled, you can access it at https://fivetran.com/connectors/ai-connector-agent.
Happy to jump on a quick call if that would help.
Best,
Tom
