Connector Improvement: Feature Request: Ability to Delete Polaris Tables for MongoDB Atlas Connector
Hello,
Currently, for the MongoDB Atlas Fivetran connection, we are unable to delete data from the Polaris tables directly. To remove this data, we must raise a Fivetran support ticket and rely on the Fivetran support team to perform the deletion on our behalf.
This process requires us to provide temporary access to both our source and destination connections, which is against Traveler’s security policy. To address this, we would like to request a feature that allows customers to delete data from Polaris tables themselves, without granting access to external teams.
Please let us know if this capability already exists or if it can be considered for future enhancement.
Thanks,
AJ

Hi AJ!
Thanks for bringing this up.
This is something that we are currently working on enabling. The designed implementation is going to provide a service principal with the ability to execute delete table operations through Iceberg or Polaris APIs.
Would this satisfy your requirement and/or would you be willing to test the functionality when it is available in preview?Casey
