    Thanks for raising this request.

    At the moment, HubSpot does not support a native association type for Lead to Deal in Associations v4. You can refer to this guide for details: https://developers.hubspot.com/docs/api-reference/crm-associations-v4/guide.

    I am curious what issues you have run into when trying to associate Lead to Deal via the Contact route.

    Thank you for getting back to me. The challenge of associating a Lead to a Deal through the Contact stems from the scenario of a single Contact having multiple Lead records and multiple Deal records associated with it which is not an uncommon occurrence. In such a case I would need to somehow identify based on the dates which Lead should be associated with which Deal, maybe by ranking them. Not impossible but somewhat problematic.  

    It's really ridiculous that HubSpot doesn't cover this association as the introduction of a Lead Object was made to answer exactly this question. Which interaction/qualification (=Lead) led to a commercial opportunity (Deal) so not having this Lead to Deal association defies the purpose. In the UI of HubSpot the association is always there and made by default as a successful Lead qualification triggers a Deal creation. But it's not the first time that HubSpot does something dumb.

    Looks like Hubspot has introduced association for deal <> lead recently . We will work on getting this added soon and will share updates as we make progress.
