Other: HashiCorp Vault integration with fivetran for credential storage
PlannedFivetran currently requires storing connector/destination credentials directly within its platform. For organizations that rely on HashiCorp Vault as their centralized secret management solution, this creates operational and security challenges:
-
Credentials must be duplicated and manually updated in Fivetran.
-
Secret rotation requires manual intervention or API scripting.
-
Storing long‑lived credentials outside Vault violates internal security policies.
-
Enterprises cannot enforce consistent governance, auditing, and lifecycle management for secrets used by Fivetran.
This gap limits Fivetran adoption in environments with strict compliance, zero‑trust, or regulated security frameworks. So, requesting a native integration that allows Fivetran to securely retrieve and manage connector credentials from HashiCorp Vault, enabling centralized secret storage, automated rotation, and compliance with enterprise‑grade security standards.
