Connect Card: Request to allow HTTP:// in Host Name for Jira

We have several customers per week fail to execute the setup for Jira due to a connect card issue.  Miles Thompson recommended I put in this as an Urgent UI/UX request.  I have submitted this in the past as well.

The customers copy and paste their domain into the Host field.  This automatically includes http://.  Unless they specifically see that and remove it, they tend to test the connection and it fails.  They then contact our support team for assistance.

 

THE REQUEST: any option will work

1. Allow http:// and let the system remove it

2. have the field validation immediately tell the customer to remove the http://.  This way, they will see the error and correct it before they try to authenticate

    Hi Blake,

    This is a valuable idea. The request to support or more clearly validate http:// in the Host field for Jira connectors has been added to our feature improvements backlog.

    We will post updates on any progress to this thread so the community stays informed.
