Connector Improvement: Opt-in to sync newly created source tables
CompletedWe have noticed that when new tables get created in source systems, Fivetran will immediately begin syncing those tables to the destination. In many cases, these tables don't have analytical value and if not caught within the 14 day trial period and deactivated will result in unnecessary MARs. We have seen this behavior specifically on our Microsoft Dynamics CRM connector - as Microsoft keeps pushing Copilot features into the CRM product, new tables are regularly created and Fivetran immediately begins syncing them.
Fivetran should never presume to sync data. It should only sync data when tables are explicitly and intentionally included by the user. All connectors should be updated to make opt-in for new tables rather than relying on the user to opt-out of syncing unnecessary tables.

Hi Clayton,
Our connectors already have this capability where you can configure it to not sync new tables being added to the connector. You can read more and how to set it up from here.
Please do suggest if you have any additional input.
Thanks. -
Thanks, Unnikrishnan - I do see that option now. I suppose we missed that on the initial set up. We will configure that setting for our CRM connector now.
