Connector Improvement: SFTP Connector - Change Custom Primary Keys

The SFTP connector is a very useful offering by Fivetran but when changes to the file schema or the source data occur we are forced to completely recreate the connector. We need the ability to modify the primary keys for each table. This is almost mandatory as users may rely on this function for:

  • Adding and configuring new tables/files
  • Reflecting changes made by the source
  • Making the necessary adjustments during the development phase

    Hi Ben,

    Thanks for filing this request. Allowing modification of custom primary keys for SFTP tables is a valuable suggestion and is already on our feature improvements backlog. Updates on progress will be shared in this thread as they become available.

    In the meantime, as a workaround, we are releasing the ability to reset the primary key when you delete and re-add a table. This should be available in the next couple of days.

    Hi Ben, file connectors now allow you to change the custom primary key for a table.
