Connector Improvement: YouTube | Audience Retention

Informed by support that Fivetran connector only pulls audience retention from videos posted within the 3 months prior. We started in July and thus are not getting any information on videos posted in Q1 of '25. It would be great if it pulled further back.

Luke from the Product team here. Thanks for submitting this request.
We had to set a 3-month backward limit because when we added this report, we were exhausting our API quota for the YouTube Analytics API. They set strict rate limits for this report. Hitting those rate limits caused all connections to slow down because rate limits are shared across all Fivetran connections. We made the compromise to limit the backwards sync to avoid delaying syncs. We also reached out to YouTube to request a higher quota for our app so that we could eventually sync more data.
We haven't been able to get more quota from YouTube. If you have an account manager or contacts at YouTube, we'd greatly appreciate connecting us with them so we can address this issue. If you're willing to help with that, let me know, and I'll reach out via email.
