Connector Improvement: Implement Capture Deletes on Pendo Connector

Recommendation:
I recommend that Fivetran implement Capture Deletes on the Pendo connector.

Reasoning:
Currently, there’s no way to identify if an event has been deleted in Pendo. This is critical for downstream reporting because without this information, we risk showing outdated or inaccurate events.

Dimensions:
Capture Deletes should be applied to the following dimensions:

  • page_history
  • feature_history
  • track_type_history
  • guide_history

    Hey Thomas, Abdul from the Product team here. We recently added history mode support to the Pendo connector, which covers what you're asking for. History mode is available for page_history, feature_history, track_type_history, and guide_history. With history mode every change is tracked including deletes. Deleted records get _fivetran_active = FALSE and _fivetran_end set to the delete timestamp, so you can identify and exclude them from your reporting.

    To turn it on, go to the Schema tab on your Pendo connection details page, find the table, click the sync mode menu, and select History mode. Then review and save.
