Connector Improvement: Salesforce Connector to Allow a Where Clause
AnsweredSalesforce (Sales/Service Cloud) can have large tables where we only want specific records. We'd like the ability to filter the connector by RecordType or other fields. I realize there are workarounds to this via user access levels in SF. I also realize Fivetran is a ELT tool, not ETL, however, in this case, I assume the Fivetran connector is using SOQL to extract data, so adding a where clause should be possible, no?
Thanks!

Hi Chris,
Small recommendation to share: Have you explored Salesforce data sharing rules? You may be able to accomplish this outcome by limiting the records your connecting user has access to.
Best regards,

One strength of Fivetran is our ease-of-use. We do not want our users having to build customized data pipelines, but we rather strive to provide one simple default that works for all/most of our customers. Because of this we avoid adding anything that adds setup complexity. Like you indicate, the way to go would be to handle this with a post-load transformation.
