Destination Improvement: Add support for writing geospatial data types to Snowflake
PlannedDocumentation shows that Fivetran connectors for Postgres and SQL Server convert geospatial data to json. Snowflake supports geospatial data types so Fivetran should be able to write geospatial data to Snowflake. Docs: https://docs.snowflake.com/en/sql-reference/data-types-geospatial.html

Hi Alex! Kevin from Product here.
Thanks for the feature request. Geospatial data types are indeed supported by Snowflake, it is currently a private preview feature for them.We partner closely with Snowflake for our integrations and this is definitely a valid feature request. I will mark this for the backlog for our database connector team.
While we don't have a timeframe yet, this is something we should provide so that users can have the appropriate datatypes in Snowflake per their analytics needs.

Hi Alex,
This is definitely something necessary, as otherwise more processing in necessary on Snowflake side to convert it to a geography column.
Do you have a timeframe for it?
