Other: HVR: Alert suppresion
AnsweredThere are times when we would like to suppress HVR alerts for certain types of errors or warnings unless certain criteria are met. Our most common example is when there might be a slight network hiccup between on-prem and cloud services which is immediately cleared by HVR simply retrying the action. In these cases, I would like to be able to set a threshold or some other mechanism for HVR to NOT send an alert unless the problem happens again, either within a period of time and/or a configurable number of repeated occurrences. The main reason behind this request is we want to reduce the number of "false alarms" that Alerts can raise when the issue is rare and/or intermittent and there really isn't anything to be done by the support team. We want Support to be able to focus on "real" issues and not have to chase after ghosts that aren't of significant concern.

Hi Dan,
We made numerous improvements to the Alert System in 6.2.5 (that will be released in GA with 6.3.0 most likely in November). New alerts allow for incremental escalation, additional filtering, as well as blackout windows. Please check these out and let us know if the improvements satisfy your need.
Thanks,
Mark. -
I'm adding my intention to proceed with the same request, as we have clients that wants to receive alerts but for a maximum amount of hours (e.g. 5hs) after 5 hours, the client want to stop receiving the alerts even if they are not yet fixed.

Just as an additional note, we are at 6.3.0/2 version and there is no option to stop an alert after X amount of hours. I hope you can help us to add this suppression limit (not backout option that seems to be intended for planned outage windows)
