New Destination: GaussDB Support as Target Database for HVR

We would like to submit a feature request for HVR to support GaussDB as a target database.

Background: our customers are migrating their database infrastructure to Huawei's GaussDB platform and require real-time data replication capabilities. Currently, HVR supports numerous database platforms as targets, but GaussDB is not yet included in the supported list.

Business Justification:

  • Growing adoption of GaussDB in enterprise environments, particularly in Asia-Pacific markets
  • Customer demand for seamless data replication to GaussDB clusters
  • Competitive advantage in serving customers with hybrid cloud architectures

Technical Details:

  • Requested Feature: GaussDB as a target database for HVR replication
  • Priority Level: Medium to High, based on customer pipeline requirements

Customer Impact: This enhancement would enable us to serve customers who have standardized on GaussDB while maintaining their existing source systems during migration phases.

    Thank you for your request.

    We have no plans to add support for GaussDB in HVR. You are the first organization requesting this.

    Do you think Huawei would be interested in joining our destination partner program? We would then open up all of Fivetran 700+ out-of-the-box ocnnectors (plus any custom connectors) to GaussDB as a destination.

    Jumphol,

    Another option for Fivetran HVR is to use an AgentPlugin. We have several examples available - also for database destinations - on how to implement one (see https://github.com/fivetran/hvr-connectors).
