Connector Improvement: Trade Desk: Pre-select reports before sync
AnsweredThe Trade Desk connector does not function well when there are a lot of reports in our Trade Desk account. The connector tries to sync all of them, but it would be such a better experience if those reports were fetched first, and users were able to select the reports to sync. Currently, I have to wait for the sync to process for tables to start appearing, and by then it's already information overload. It is trying to collect hundreds of reports, many of which are not set up for the purpose of collecting in Fivetran, and the sync is taking a stupid amount of time for a bunch of data I don't actually want. And I have no ability to stop this.
The ability to pre-select reports before ingestion would make the setup process much smoother, particularly for accounts with large numbers of reports.
Thanks!

Hi Jeffrey,
Thanks for submitting this feature request. I appreciate your feedback and input on the connector. As a temporary workaround, I think it is possible to disable all tables except for REPORT_SCHEDULE and REPORT_EXECUTION. Then you can set the Schema Change Handling setting for the connector to Block all. That should allow you to fetch the available report tables without syncing them. Then you can enable the ones you need.
I agree there should be a better long-term solution. I see drawbacks of loading the report list in the setup form to allow users to pre-select reports. Depending on the number of reports, it could take time to fetch the full list, and the list of reports would be difficult to fit into the Setup form UI.
We're currently exploring whether we could create an interface in the Setup form that would allow users to create custom reports (via The Trade Desk custom templates). This would make the setup experience similar to our other advertising connectors, such as Google Ads and Facebook Ads. Would that work for your use case?
Appreciate the input.
Cheers,
Luke
