Connector Improvement: Support for Customizable Long Sync Period and Scheduled Execution for Facebook Pages connector

Hi Team,

The customer SPH_Media_Ltd has requested enhanced control over long sync operations. Specifically, they would like the following capabilities:

  1. Customizable Sync Period
    Currently, the long sync period defaults to 2 years. The customer would like the flexibility to select the desired time range for the long sync, such as:

    • 6 months

    • 1 year

    • 2 years

    • or a custom-defined period

  2. Scheduled Execution Preference
    To minimize impact on business hours, they would prefer these long syncs to be executed over the weekend, rather than during weekdays.

These enhancements would help them better manage sync performance and scheduling around operational needs.

Please let me know if this is feasible or if any additional details are needed from the customer’s side.

    Luke from the Product team here. Thank you for your suggestion (via Astuti).

    We always strive to keep our connectors easy to use, reliable, and fast by maintaining a simple configuration standard. We understand that some advanced users may require more flexibility; however, we evaluate support for additional configuration layers against the platform, maintenance, and support complexities they would introduce.  

    Currently, we are not prioritizing this feature because of the complexity it would require in our user interface and to maintain. However, we will monitor the upvotes on this request and consider it for future prioritization based on demand. We will keep you updated on any changes regarding support for this configuration.

    I understand that your use case is unique because of the high data volumes you're syncing with our connector. We are committed to finding alternative ways to support your use case that can scale across our customer base without adding more configuration to our user experience.
