Dashboard Improvement: HVR GUI should enhance to display Start and End point of Channel Replication
Hello,
We like to know how we will get the info like , which is the last check point of HVR operations in HVR GUI. We have traced back through Channel Logs in GUI or backend log files. But these logs are not giving details such as starting point, end point of previous operations. Without knowing the previous check point details, it will be difficult for the users to resume channel replications.
We have below mentioned business requirement -
In case of client TJX , USA,
1. The archival logs at source (IBM Z/OS DB2) end are available up to 14 days only. So in the scenarios like, if have to suspend the channel operations more than 14 or beyond days due to various technical reasons then it will throw continuous system dumps at source end in every 30 minutes. Also there will be data loss at HVR end to reconcile for those lost days. We cant do the bulk refresh due to large data volume of the tables involved in some of the channels.
2. Another business requirement is , we are going for HVR Go live from IBM CDC within this month or so. At present in IBM CDC the captioned feature is available in the GUI itself and hence support team is looking for the same sort of feature available in HVR as well.
Thanks & Regards

Currently we are using Fivetran HVR 6.2.0_8 patch level.

Hi Manoj,
In the Jobs view you can add the column to show Capture Rewind. This information is the checkpoint for how far back the capture will go back in the worst case. Note depending on your screen size you may need to scroll to the right to see the column values (after you add the column).

Hope this helps.

Hello Mark - We would like to see last point (bookmark) of the tables inside the channel when the subscription stopped abruptly. The option you are advising us will show only when the subscription was active.I understand we can goto Metadata DB and search configuration files , But we wanted to see on the GUI within HVR . Since our support personnel mayh not access to logs or Linux server to look into .
Happy to hop on to call and discuss further.
THanks
Ram
