Transformations: Shopify – Include Initial Stock Quantity and Stock Replenishment Transactions in Inventory
Not plannedHi Fivetran team,
I would like to request a feature enhancement regarding the inventory data currently available.
At the moment, unless I’m mistaken, it is only possible to retrieve the current stock level of a product or product variant via the inventory tables. However, for more advanced and accurate reporting—such as sell-through rate analysis and inventory turnover—it would be highly valuable to also have access to the initial stock quantity and the stock replenishment transactions over time.
Specifically, it would be helpful if the following data points could be made available in the inventory schema:
-
Initial stock quantity per product variant, along with the corresponding timestamp (e.g., when the item first became available).
-
A log of stock additions (replenishments), ideally with quantity and timestamp per transaction.
Having these data points would allow us to better understand:
-
The complete stock evolution (Initial Stock + Inbound Stock – Sales).
-
Sell-through performance over specific time windows.
-
Product lifecycle and replenishment dynamics.
If this information is already available in another table or requires additional configuration, please let us know.
Thanks in advance!
Best regards,
Bjorn

Hi Bjorn,
Thank you for your detailed feature request regarding Shopify inventory data. Currently, the ability to track initial stock quantities and stock replenishment transactions over time is not on our roadmap. We encourage you to upvote this feature in our feature request portal, as it helps us prioritize based on customer interest. We will keep your suggestion in mind for future enhancements.
Best,
