Connector Improvement: Connector RDS(Aurora) needs to improve setup via AWS privatelink(24/12-)

If connector is RDS aurora service has no fixed IP address, we have to construct NLB and portforwarder host. In this result, new service down point was made even if RDS aurora can save service single region down(portforwader host).

However, AWS supports pubilished on Dec.2024 that NLB and portforwarder host was not needed, below.

Therefore, we would like you to adopt above technology to keep service level.

    Hi Takuya,

    Are you using Aurora for Postgres or Aurora for MySQL? Or both?

    Currently, we have selected Aurora for PostgreSQL, but we believe supporting both in the future would be preferable.

    Also, which endpoint type are you after for AWS RDS Postgres?

    • resource VPC endpoint for one resource
    • service network VPC endpoint for pooled resources via VPC Lattice

    We do have resource endpoints on our roadmap, and have done some work already to support the core endpoint type --- but overall the feature is currently in the mode of collecting customer requests for what sources (e.g. RDS postgres) to apply the capability to.
    We have a few projects ahead of this but are interested to do it. I'll update you here when we have a timeline, we're hoping to get to this in the 2nd half of the year, but that may change as priorities shift.
