Other: HVR support for MS Entra ID / AAD authentication for SQL MI

There is a company policy to enforce "Only Microsoft Entra ID will be used to authenticate to the managed instance. SQL authentication will be disabled", while HVR does not support it, it uses SQL authentication to login.

Worth to mention is, HVR does support AAD authentication to location type Azure SQL Database, which is also Azure PaaS as SQL MI is.

    Hi Zhixian,

    I am surprised you cannot use Entra ID to authenticate against Azure Managed Instance. We'll look into this issue and - I assume - address it.
