Connector Improvement: Ability to Pull From Templates in The Trade Desk

Currently the fivetran API can only pull from generated reports, as opposed to templates.

Other data integration tools have the ability to pull from templates, so it would be super helpful and useful if Fivetran could do the same.

    Luke from the Product team here. Thanks for submitting this request!

    I'm not sure what you mean by templates. The only report types I'm aware of are the three listed on this page in The Trade Desk's API docs:

    • User-Defined Reports
    • Predefined Reports
    • Dimension-Specific Reports

    Are you referring to what TTD calls predefined reports?

    Hi Luke. I can't speak for Adam, but we would indeed like to retrieve Predefined reports through the TTD connector. Other tools like Funnel and Supermetrics are able to retrieve data using predefined templates, eliminating the need for us to create custom templates in the TTD interface. We would like to see this in Fivetran.

    Hi Mark,

    Thanks for the context. We're currently working on a feature to create report schedules for custom report templates. With that feature, our connector would create reports in The Trade Desk based on custom templates, and then pick those up when the sync runs. 

    What you're asking for is different. I'll add this to our backlog. If I'm understanding correctly, you're asking us to add this data to our standard schema:

    Thanks for the response. If we can use Fivetran to create report schedules for custom report templates, I think this will be sufficient for our current needs. If I'm understanding correctly, we would still create the report template in the TTD UI and then use Fivetran to schedule and retrieve the report.

    The predefined reports I was referring to in my earlier comment are the reports detailed here. I still think this would be useful as a future feature in Fivetran, as it would remove the need to configure templates in the UI for common reports.
