Destination Improvement: Connectors are not persisting the column descriptions to Databricks destination

Fivetran provides column descriptions, but currently, these descriptions are not transferred to Databricks when using Databricks as a destination. I would like to request a feature that enables the persistence of column descriptions from Fivetran to Databricks, ensuring that metadata and documentation are maintained in the destination environment. This would greatly improve data usability and consistency for downstream users.

    Hi Manju,

    Thanks for submitting this feature request. I'm working on a project now that's focused on this type of feature.

    Are there specific source connectors you had in mind for this type of feature? I'm curious which upstream sources and fields are most important for your downstream use cases.

    Any insights you can share would greatly help as we design this new feature.
