Connector Improvement: Calculated attributes in Salesforce objects are not supported by Fivetran
AnsweredWhen attempting to import the Opportunity object from Salesforce into our Data Lake, we noticed that a few attributes are greyed out (opted out). Fivetran has indicated that these attributes are calculated fields and, as such, cannot be replicated directly. They suggested that calculated fields can be imported using the "Transformations" feature.
However, when we tried to import the Opportunity object using the Transformations feature, Fivetran informed us that this functionality is not supported if the target system is an S3 bucket in AWS. We need this feature to be addressed as our environment contain below systems:
Source: Salesforce
Target: AWS S3 Data lake.
Thanks!

Hi Praveen,
You're right that we don't yet support Quickstart Transformations for AWS S3 Data Lake destinations, but the good news is that it's on our roadmap for Q1. I don't have an exact timeline, but we'll keep you posted here.
In the meantime, one workaround you can use is to visit the setup form for your Salesforce connector and toggle on "Sync formula fields directly". Note that this can lead to data integrity issues because Salesforce does not provide us a way to detect when formula fields get updated.
Best,
Sadie
