Dashboard Improvement: Table Addition under Correct Owner

Hi Team,

Case when tableProperties not defined at target:

When we are adding table in HVR6, it is automatically picking owner of hvr user (through which hvr connects to DB) instead of original owner. However, Group helps to overcome this issue. But, this is a pain point everytime we are adding a new schema then we have to dedicate a specific group to it as well then we can modify tableProperties of that particular table.

    Rajat,

    During the initial create channel flow - when picking tables for the first time - you have the option to align table groups with schema names. This is the only time HVR automates the creation of the groups in line with schemas.

    When modifying an existing channel you have to pick the correct group or create a new one if you pick tables from a schema you have not previously selected tables from. Or you can create a TableProperties action specific to the table. Note that you cannot have conflicting TableProperties actions e.g. pointing to one schema at the group level, but another schema at the table level.

    The way in which we use actions has been part of HVR since its inception. Unfortunately we cannot change it easily so will reject your suggestion. Adjusting channels for changes is an advanced operation.
