Connector Improvement: Facebook Ads - Add canvas and canvas_elements dimension tables
AnsweredHi,
We currently cannot reconcile collection ads clicks with other platforms based upon the destination url.
The creative links to a Facebook Page's canva URL like "object_story_spec"."link_data"."link": "https://fb.com/canvas_doc/1234567890123456".
Once on the canva, canva elements' clicks or footer button clicks will navigate to a destination URL.
These last clicks and URLs are currently not available in the connector.

If this feature is not developed we might have to write a custom connector.

Hi Florian,
Luke from the Product team here. Thanks for submitting this feature request.
I'm not sure I understand the request, and I want to clarify this before we implement it. Is your goal to determine how many users clicked through these collection ads to the destination URL, where the destination URL is a URL contained within the Instant Experience / Canvas? After reviewing Meta's API documentation, I don't see a way to get that data.
This endpoint describes collection ads, but only how to create them via the API: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/marketing-api/creative/collection-ads. Do you want us to sync all of the collection ads that exist for your account as a new metadata table?
I also found this page for Instant Experiences. However, it only seems useful for retrieving the metadata for instant experiences, and I don't see a reference to a field that could represent a destination URL: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/marketing-api/guides/instant-experiences#get-all-instant-experiences-for-a-page.
Were you able to implement this as a custom connector? Any additional details you could provide here would be helpful.
Thanks,
Luke
