Connector Improvement: Support for reporting conversions by impression time for Snapchat Ads connectors
PlannedSnapchat announced in August that they will default to computing conversion metrics based on impression time rather than conversion time. (see here for more context: https://businesshelp.snapchat.com/s/article/reporting-settings?language=en_US).
This change is in-line with industry standards. Because these metrics are generally used to assess the efficacy of ads, reporting based on the impression time of the ad is much more useful than reporting on the time of the actual conversion.
Accordingly, the Snapchat API gives the option to request metrics with the action_report_time specified (see here: https://developers.snap.com/api/marketing-api/Ads-API/measurement), though this option is not currently supported by Fivetran.
This means that data synced by Fivetran is misaligned with the Snapchat Ads Manager defaults (as well as with general industry practices). It's business-critical for us to have metrics computed from the time of impression, and hope that support for this will be prioritized.

Hi Max,
Luke from the Product team here. Thanks for submitting this request!
It makes sense, configuring the action reporting time is something we already support on our other ad connectors like Facebook Ads. I've added this to our backlog. We'll analyze this new feature and confirm the API functions as expected when using it. We may need access to test this. If we do, we'll reach out via our team support.
Once we've finished analyzing this I'll provide a more detailed timeline.
Thanks,

Hi all,
Just a quick note to let you know our team has started working on this. We should be ready to roll this out in the next few weeks.
Thanks,
Luke
